In php script, if echo "<a></a>" it render as html elementas we understand it, but when doing in php, $str=htmlentities("<a></a>"); then $str=html_entity_decode($str); $str is not equal to "<a></a>", $str is string. why that is not HTML element

The Update Manager had problems installing some packages. I recall that there were some installation problems with samba two months ago, but I had no time to deal with it then. I have attached the log of the update listed in the Update Manager box.

I saw that the "settings" icon (top right) was red and the drop-down menu said to reboot to complete the operations. After rebooting, I did another dpkg -l | grep samba, and now there are only 11 entries in the attached (down from 14-15 entries earlier). Are there still a mixture of samba3 and samba4 packages?
The attached file, unsupported.txt, is the output from $ ubuntu-support-status --show-unsupported.

You have mix of samba3 and samba4 packages, while it will likely work you will not know which of 2 versions is at fault.

The current state of the installation is in the attached samba-list3.txt file. This file has one more line than samba-list2.txt, and the same number of lines as samba-list.txt (although some lines are different).

I deleted line 57 - got the same line 57 error again, so I deleted the new line 57. Two lines deleted are:

Try to uninstall and re-install samba4
-First uninstall your samba4 version
sudo apt-get purge samba4
sudo apt-get install -f
-Second, add repository
sudo apt-add-repository "deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kernevil/samba4/ubuntu precise main"
sudo apt-get update
-Third, add dependencies
sudo apt-get install git build-essential libacl1-dev libattr1-dev libblkid-dev libgnutls-dev libreadline-dev python-dev python-dnspython gdb pkg-config libpopt-dev libldap2-dev dnsutils libbsd-dev attr krb5-user docbook-xsl libcups2-dev libpam0g-dev ntp -y
-Fourth, download samba4
sudo apt-get install samba4

If it is still issue, please send again the command output of "sudo apt-get dist-upgrade" to us for review, and if the output error is related to libav-tools, you need to removed all packages and reinstalled as follow:
sudo apt-get install --reinstall libav-tools -f --fix-missing
