From last few days i am facing problem in 2 system 1 is having windows 7 and one is having XP. both the system freeze suddenly then we need to power it off and on. there is no error in event log. i tried chkdsk. no issue. what to do.

i would run a ram test to be sure; use memtest86+ for this; i run diags always from the UBCD :
Hardware diagnostic CD UBCD
go to the download page, scroll down to the mirror section, and click on a mirror to start the download
Download the UBCD and make the cd <<==on a WORKING PC, and boot the problem PC from it
Here 2 links, one to the general site, and a direct link to the download
since the downloaded file is an ISO file, eg ubcd527.iso - so you need to use an ISO burning tool

So probably it is related to power chip.
Last fix, reset CMOS switch on mother board to clear and restore CMOS normal mode,
And during F2 setup-->F11-->F10 to save default CMOS setting (do both hardware
and software CMOS reset together(not just one)
if still not fix it, most likely it is hard to fix the power chip.
Be reminded, we are taking about the power chip that is not on the power
supply and that is regulator chip on mother board and it will shut down
when current is drawing too much OR chip is not good
Clean up all dust or dirty around power supply and fans on the top of CPU for
good cooling system

If possible, could you unmount all peripherial, internal card, device including RAM card and then re-mount all device again in good and solid position, and then restart the computer to see it will improve or not ?

If they're towers unplug remove side panel and blow the insides out with compressed air, especially the heat sink on CPU also make sure all fans are spinning ok. with side open check components on MB for any bulging or leaking on any caps.

I know of two areas that might be causing this problem:
1. If these systems were running for a long time AND the CPU overheated, then the systems can lockup. This can cause damage to the processor and cause ongoing lockup of other problems. I don't think this is your problem.
2. There is an application running in the background that you don't know about like an anti virus scan, or update running that is taking all the system resources. sometimes this takes all the resources and your system locks because there is nothing left to use.
I suggest restarting the Pc's in safe mode... when you see the motherboard or manufacturer's logo, press F8 multiple times and select Safe Mode with Networking. After getting to the desktop and clicking out of the Safemode notification, let it sit for a few minutes to run anything that is related to the Startup. Then so into Device Mgr and see if there are any devices with an exclamation of problem noted. if so, download new drivers and install them.
You also might want to make sure you don't have multiple anti virus applications running. Many times they work against each other or they take up all the system resources as I mentioned above and lock up the system.
Restart into normal mode and see how it works.
It's always a good idea to delete temporary files, internet cookies and general cleanup. CCleaner is a great free utility to use that does this well.
