500 points Excellent
Read this article,https://computer28.com/article/install-macos-virtualbox.doc.php
Setting: 1 CPU , 2G memory, Accelerator using option of "Mininmal", MicroSoft Hyper-V is similar to VirtualBox that may not be good for Macos VM..,
Features: I/O APiC, UEFI , both only
Don't use too many CPU and too much Memory that won't speed your system running since your MacOS is older version and is not same as Window architecture. Try conservative firstly
it, should work now, and it won't be slower than using 8CPU and 8G memory

Setting up a macOS guest in VirtualBox can be a bit tricky, but with the right configuration, you can achieve a smooth and fast experience. Here's a comprehensive guide to help you optimize your MacOS setup on VirtualBox:
**Hardware Settings**
1. **CPU:** Ensure that your host machine has at least a dual-core processor (Intel Core i3 or equivalent). A quad-core processor is recommended for smoother performance.
2. **RAM:** Allocate at least 8 GB of RAM, but 16 GB or more is ideal.
3. **Storage:** Choose a fast storage option:
* VMDK (VirtualBox Disk Image): This is the fastest and most efficient format. Make sure to select the correct size for your virtual disk.
* VDI (VirtualBox Disk Image with compression): This format offers better performance than the raw VMDK format.
**Networking**
1. **Network Type:** Use a Bridged Network Adapter for the best experience. This allows the guest OS to have access to the host's network interface and can improve connectivity.
2. **MAC Address:** Set the MAC address of the virtual network adapter to match your host machine's MAC address. You can do this by selecting "Use generated MAC address" in VirtualBox and then editing the VM settings.
**Performance Settings**
1. **CPU Priority:** Set the CPU priority to High or Very High to ensure that the guest OS gets sufficient CPU resources.
2. **Memory Priority:** Set the memory priority to High or Very High to allocate more RAM to the guest OS.
3. **Virtualization Engine:** Ensure that the virtualization engine is set to Intel VT-x (or AMD-V for AMD processors).
**Other Settings**
1. **Boot Options:** In VirtualBox, go to the "Settings" > "Boot Order" and ensure that the MacOS boot media is at the top of the list.
2. **USB Settings:** Disable any unnecessary USB devices in the BIOS settings (if you're using a legacy BIOS). You can also use VirtualBox's built-in USB passthrough feature.
3. **Graphics Settings:** Set the graphics adapter to Intel HD Graphics 4000 or AMD Radeon R9 M280X.
**Tips and Tricks**
1. **Disable any unnecessary plugins or extensions** in Safari (e.g., Adobe Flash) to improve performance.
2. **Use a fast storage drive**, such as an SSD, for your MacOS installation disk.
3. **Update your host machine's drivers** to the latest versions, especially graphics and sound drivers.
4. **Monitor resource usage** to identify any bottlenecks in your system.
By following these settings and tips, you should be able to achieve a smooth and fast experience with your MacOS guest on VirtualBox:
MacOS Guest Settings:
* CPU: High or Very High
* RAM: 8 GB or more (16 GB recommended)
* Storage: VMDK or VDI format
* Network Type: Bridged Network Adapter
* MAC Address: Match your host machine's MAC address
