I'm looking for a way to automatically expand (resize) a Windows Explorer column within Windows Explorer or a way of locking all of the Explorer columns to a fixed width.
The problem with Windows Explorer is that the size of the columns for information such as the file name or other important columns such as the created or modified date is most often too small to fit all of the required information and I have to manually adjust the width of these columns to be able to see all of the information.
Are there any:
1. Utilities or methods within Windows to fix the size of the columns
2. Way to double click somewhere within the column to make it expand
or 3. Any other way of fixing this issue.

250 points EXCELLENT
What that link hasn't included: pressing CTRL together with + will also resize all columns to fit. You cannot adjust it so that explorer shows all columns of all folders fitting anytime, this is not possible.

Just open explorer, and right-click the column you want and set it to "size all column all to fit"
Hope understand your question. If not, please point it out
