I am using Ubuntu 12.04.2. most of the time when I use Winscp I can login and see folders but every now and then I get prompted with another password with the words "using keyboard interactive authentication" I'm not sure why I receive this and each time I type my password I get rejected. Sometimes rebooting the local system works but why does this happen?

I think I found the issue which was related to a NAS box on the network with the same IP. Since changing the IP the issue has not occured since.

probably it has to do with your keyboard layout...
you can try to save password...
keyboard-interactvie is same as password, but can be plugged with OTP if needed.

Dear Sid_F
What version of winscp are you using ? I heard there is some issue as you said for some version. If possible, download some older version or most latest version to try.
Hope understand your question completely, if not please point it out
