Virtual Private Networking (VPN);TCP/IP;Networking Hardware
Hi, I have two sites that use watchguard routers.
I've managed to get a VPN linking the two sites. problem is I cannot ping the remote router over the VPN using the watchguard ping diag tool in system manager.
I'm wondering if I may have setup one site with the wrong subnet
main site
10.0.1.0/24 (255.255.255.0)
remote site
192.168.222.0/24 (255.255.255.0)
I've done a subnet mask convertor for the IP range and noticed it says the main site should use /28 (255.255.255.240)
the way I have set it up, would it be the cause of my issue ?
also, just to make things random, my pc at the main site can ping the remote router, but a remote pc cannot ping the main router.

ended up being an issue with static routes, the tracing of the packets help me discover where the info was going and make required changes
thanks

Could you do command "tracert IP's adrrss", send us the output for the routing

500 points EXCELLENT
Hi,
Please run trace route between the remote PC and the main router to see where the packets are dropping. I am suspicious that there is a router / firewall which drops your ping requests. I have seen this sort of issues on the router with enable "Block Anonymous Internet Requests" option but in your case you are able to ping the remote router from your PC.
Thanks,
John
