Topic:
Windows XP Operating System;;Java Programming Language
I would like to unstall my Java in control panel on Window XP but when click
the delete button on ADD/REMOVE application, the Java icon can not be deleted
and it show the error message on title of"Windows installer" dialog windown, it can not find out the file, jre1.6.0_26-c-1.msi ,its replacing path at c:documment setting administratorapplication dataSunJavajavajre1.60_.26
So I goolge it any solution, find out a lot method to solve my issue at
http://www.xpheads.com/forums/microsoft-public-windowsxp-general/119887-java-control-panel-folder-empty-cannot-uninstall-java-6-update-1-a.html
For example,
1)use regedit to delete Javasoft file
Or
2) following the above link to use msconfig and re-install Java
3) and I try use JavaRa to remover older version of Java
All methods can not solve my issue, and I go to
C:program filesJavajre directory is still there that is my previouse installation of Java 'spath . When I go to install Java, it can not pass the dialog window and show the same message
above, can not find out the file, jre1.6.0_26-c-1.msi ,its replacing path at c:documment setting administratorapplication dataSunJavajavajre1.60_.26
Probably, C:program filesJavajre direcoty is corrupted , how to delete it ? and
how to remove the Java on add/remove option on control panel ?
Please advise for any hit to solve my issue.

Your uninstall key is there, or you wouldn't have ANYthing in the Add/Remove Programs listing.....
You really need to use Revo to do the uninstall....Something has gottten corrupted, and it is preventing a clean uninstall (either that or the cached installer is gone....)

"and finally I still not able to delete the icon of Java in ADD/Remove on control panel"
There is an entry here....
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionUninstall
Search for Java, and you will see several values. 1 in particular is "InstallSource", and that's the file it cannot find.
You cannot just delete it from the registry though. Yes, it removes it from Add/Remove Programs though, as it just removes that entry, but leaves the remnants behind.....
When using Revo, use the Advanced Deep scan, and once that error pops up, you can go through and delete the BOLDED ITEMS ONLY, in the registry scan, and then the related files.....
