The reason the question wasn't closed immediately and you saw the "pending" notice is you included your own comment in the solution. In that case that was probably not needed and should've been left out. If you hade left it our then the question would've been immediately closed. Since you included your own comment EE's system lets others object. That case wasn't reason for an objection so the experts let it close. In the future though, if your comment isn't really a main part of the answer, then just select expert comments when closing the question.
